Objections as gift

Hi everyone!
In our community of practice, this Monday, we talked about “What do we do when someone objects and they think it’s related to our aim, but other people of the circle don’t agree that it’s related to the aim”.

We went in all kinds of directions! From when this is a repeatitive issue with one specific person, and we need to set boundaries to respect sociocratic principles, to when it happens just one time, with how do we normally facilitate integrating objections, including supporting the objector to clarify their thinking.

Leilani and Diana had resources they wanted to share with us about this topic. Anyone else is also invited to do the same!

Thanks for starting this thread, Audree.

I have a document ‘Objections as Gifts’ that I was referring to in the meeting. As I mentioned, it may be a bit of a ‘blend’ of sociocracy, holacracy and XR’s ‘self-organising systems’ - but food for thought anyway!

(Unfortunately I just tried to upload it but am told 'new users cannot upload documents.)
