Proposal Shaping and Notes/Mind Maps/Categorization-- Better Ways to Write it All Down & Visualize

As we shape our proposal together, does anyone have a more creative and efficient method for visualizing all the dimensions we’re discussing? This would be for a virtual environment. I’m finding it challenging to use the Zoom Whiteboard for moving text around, recategorizing, and creating an organic image that reflects how the group shares dimensions. Any suggestions?

Hi Pare,

I am interested in learning more about specific features you’re looking for. What exercises do you usually practice when shaping proposals? What features do you want to see in a software to complete your tasks?

I love this question because there are so many options now to elevate the experience. I’m curious what other people use. For Greek Village Cohousing, when I am facilitating proposal shaping, I use Miro or the Zoom white board, which is boring but useful. However, we also occassionally use far better things.
When we were proposal shaping on the aesthetics of our homes, we used AI image makers- very fun and quickly became obsessive  We’ve used Word Clouds, which is fun. We’ve used Canva to make flowcharts and timelines that are more visually interesting while we brainstorm. We’ve used AI that makes mind maps. Mostly however, it is simple Miro with categories. For instance, last Sunday we were psydo proposal shaping around what legal structure design we prefer for our Crete property purchase. I had 3 categories on Miro- Values, Challenges, and Solutions. We popcorn style threw out values we felt the legal structure should reflect, and you get the idea… I put a sticky note with each in each category. It was ok and did the job well enough, but I’m sure there are far better ways to brainstorm around the initial foundation of a legal structure. What tools and questions would you have suggested?
