Renewing the Web Content Publishing Community of Practice

The Web Content Publishing (WCP) Community of Practice (CoP) has been paused for a little while, but it seems like it’s important to get it running again, or to have some space for training and certifying Web Content Publishers so that we can have shared reality on our strategy for using the website for outreach.

I imagine that WCP training and certification involves several elements:

  • Using Groundhogg, including flows, mapping, tagging schemes, and custom fields
  • Best practices on using Ninjaforms (and other form engines)
  • Creating events
  • Managing products in Woocommerce
  • Page and site design guidelines

What do we need to consider around this? Who wants to be involved in organizing WCP training and the CoP?

One urgent piece that I’m hearing recently around this is information and training around how to manage contacts are are marked as unconfirmed or unconsenting who we in fact believe are confirmed or consenting. (As well as how to avoid this happening in the first place, of course.)

Hello dearies,

I just had a meeting with Francine Proulx-Kenzle about SoFra’s upcoming needs for publishing and outreach and I was also reviewing the documentation we currently have and feel energized and with material to work on:

  • WCP Guide
  • an outreach with groundhogg guide (in which we would tackle the confirmation process and contact maintenance protocols and gdpr maintenance) and to outline the
  • basic training for publishers

At the same time I’d like to propose a series of WCP CoPs for the upcoming months and perhaps a space in the forum for WCPers. I am also interested in receiving feedback but that may be a second phase. What do you think about this?
