NGO Circle Member
Role Description:
Member Activities / What we need help with:
- Content creation for LinkedIn, newsletter, and NGO circle educational offerings
- Online conference planning
Circle Activities:
We meet monthly, use Trello for tracking activities and can use that or Slack for asynchronous conversations.
- NGO & nonprofit sector pages on website
- NGO & Nonprofit Community of Practice
- NGO & Nonprofit content and contacts
- Outreach to promote Organizational Memberships for NGO & Nonprofits
Guided by (policies, workflows):
Communities department project budgeting policy currently being rolled out.
Web Content Publishing guidelines
General SoFA Network guidelines
Collaborates with:
Parent Circle: Communities Department, so them and potentially other Community Circles were relevant
Collab with SoFA English for Mini and general Conferences
SoFA web and content publishing and occasionally IT departments
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Basic understanding of sociocracy
- A statement of intention for joining the NGO circle, including what you expect to gain and contribute, any past/current/future affiliations with NGOs, and any other related information it might be useful for us to know
Preferred:
- Experience working with NGOs
- SoFA organizational knowledge
- Tech, graphics/video skills
- Circle role-related skills (e.g. facilitation, note-taking, etc.)
- Experience implementing or training in sociocracy (plus if certified)
Hours/week
Approximately 1-4 hours a week depending on activities you are engaged in.
Compensation (if applicable)
This is not a paid role presently but in future the paid NGO Outreach Coordinator role could potentially open up. There are also some paid roles through Communities Department should there be personnel changes in the future.
