I am curious if anyone in this community is attached to the folks who are exploring things like work self-management in nonprofits and organizations with boards? Like in the following context:
I am a little confused why none of these types of resources even mention sociocracy.
For example, this article mentions “consensual hierarchies” when talking about Power Sharing:
But no mention of Sociocracy.
I am curious if other folks have any experience bringing it into discussion in these spaces, especially around the overall goal of “prefigurative politics,” or living the future we imagine tomorrow today through how we structure our organizing work.
Is it just that there is a lack of overlapping people between these groups to facilitate an exchange of ideas? Or are there certain parts of sociocracy that people push back against?
It just seems from my own personal experience navigating this place of anti-opression → structurelessness → structures that support our values, that having something as solid and concrete as sociocracy has been invaluable, giving us some path through the confusing soup of collective governance.
